About
Megan Wike is an artist focused on the intersection of performance and education.
As a performer, she recently formed a piano quartet that received a grant from the Brevard Music Center Emerging Artists Fund to commission a new work by composer Max Eidinoff.
Based in Baltimore, Wike is a current student at Peabody Conservatory, working towards her Master of Music in Viola Performance and Pedagogy.
Before moving to Baltimore, she served as a member of the viola section for Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes in Corning, New York for two seasons (2023-2025) while completing her undergraduate degree at the Eastman School of Music.
As a passionate chamber and orchestral musician, she has performed at Bowdoin, Brevard, and Green Mountain Music Festivals. Her solo and chamber masterclass credits include Roberto Diaz, Richard O’Neill, Jeremy Denk, Jupiter String Quartet and David Finckel.
Megan served as principal viola for several seasons at Brevard Music Festival and Eastman School of Music.
At the Eastman School she studied chamber music closely with the Ying Quartet and attributes her love of string quartet works, community outreach, and programming in part to their mentorship.
As a native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Wike started playing viola in her public school’s orchestra program at age 9 and is a strong advocate for accessibility in arts education.
During the 2025 season, she returned to Brevard Music Center as an Assistant Dean, combining her leadership skills with her experience as a musician.
Her primary teachers include Marcus Smolensky, Phillip Ying, and Choong-Jin Chang.
